The Invisible Rose..

On the terrace, it’s the night of the Valentine

I’m standing alone with a glass of wine

Lost in thoughts I am gazing at the stars

Closed my eyes, then opened, I see them blink through the icy jar

Looking at me I feel them smile

Must be thinking I have lost my mind

What are you trying to find? They say

It’s my invisible rose that was given this very day!

Something snaps inside that very moment

It’s been years now, still it makes my heart so warm

That invisible rose has always been so strong.

It never wilted, never lost its fragrance

Even when we forgot its existence

It made sure to be persistent

Stayed there, never changed

Watched us make mistakes, go our own ways

In our hearts it always stayed

The almighty had kept it invisible

Giving it all the powers possible

The pause we took, it shook us up!

Only it knew what was to come up

Happiness has always been with each other

Alone we only live but alive we are together

It bloomed more when the hope was gone

Trying to remind us not to be lost

Never will fade our invisible rose

It has heard us, seen us, be happy and morose

It has been nourished ever since with true love

Which is never lost and forever grows

Give loads of love to my sweetheart

For he is the reason you seem so real

I wish he talks to you someday

And you show him that very day

When I saw you and felt his thoughts come alive

We were silent and you bloomed with all might

Tender and innocent love you brought

The very reason we never fought

May we talk to you together, be it the last day

We would be old, you shall still be beautiful to hold us close

The only one to know us now and forever

Will always be you, and you shall still not wither!

Keep our hearts beating for each other

Forever and ever and ever!!

Sacrifice with a Smile!

Logging in to WordPress and checking out today’s prompt brought an instant smile. “Sacrifice” – This is not just a word. It holds such a deep and inspiring meaning to it and what a timing – i’m writing this right on Mother’s day 🙂

She symbolizes this word to me and by this i don’t mean she keeps whining all the time or is upset she could not do certain things. She made all her sacrifices with a beautiful smile and a heart full of such love and kindness.

I remember as a kid, i always felt Mom is a super hero and she can never fall sick. No! She just cannot fall ill. If ever, which was very rare, i saw her lying on the bed and saying, “i’m not feeling well”, it made me feel that she was joking or maybe mom doesn’t want to bake me a cake today. Although i laugh at it today but she definitely is a Super Mom and that really inspires me and makes me think sometimes if ever i would be able to be like her. So selfless, warm, loving, caring and works like a machine the whole day taking care of each and every living and non-living thing around her and still the pot of happiness and love inside of her never goes empty!

At the end of the day, when she asks for a cup of tea while sitting on her favorite grey couch and my Dad without a word, gets up with a smile and makes the best tea in the world, sums it all for me. 🙂

No matter how much wrong i do, how much bad i behave, all i know is, she will always be this kind and loving to me. I’ve got tears in my eyes remembering all the times i have not been a good daughter and every time she proved to be the best mother i could ever ask for.

O God! I love her so much and i promise i will make her happy. I hope i become even 10% of the woman she is.

SOUND of the BEACH..

How a sudden plan with your favorite girl friends, to an unseen place at the not so right time makes it full of amazing experiences to be cherished for a lifetime.

We were on a conference call – All three of us in different states of India and suddenly one of us said let’s plan for a trip. I was the one who recently had joined a new project and could not take a long break, so we thought of a quick one. Easy as it sounded at first, it became the most difficult task to select the place and then we did what we were best at during in our childhood: Inky Pinky Ponkey!! Am i kidding?? Nope, we really did it on the map and finally got our destination – KARWAR it is – said one friend and we were silent for a few seconds. haha! What?? I wanted to hear the name again and make sure she was talking about India. This is a small coastal city in the state of Karnataka.

I wanted to go by train and enjoy the scenic beauty on the way. Observe the people travelling and share experiences. The other two got their tickets confirmed and I being the most excited one was still struggling to get my seat confirmed. Finally, i was in the waiting list but still happy to have got it. I was imagining myself bribe the ticket checker to let me travel in case my seat doesn’t get confirmed. I just had to go anyhow. 😀

The day of travel: In a hush-hush i reached the railway station and my ride was already there waiting for me to hop in. Not finding my name on the chart outside the coach, i sadly went inside and found a gang of boys who were in the same boat as mine and one of them just smiled looking at me. I knew now, the next 36 hrs are going to be fun. 😉  None of us had our seats confirmed and were eagerly waiting for the TT and when this guy walked in his black uniform, all what these boys wanted to know was which seat was I getting. Men will be men after all and i sat quietly with ease knowing that I’ve got the same seat i have been sitting on and luckily it was the passage side. I got what i wanted and now was only hoping the train to run even faster. Hmmm, after some awkward exchange of looks, the silence finally broke when one of the guys asked, are you also going to Goa? (For those of you who don’t know – Goa is a very popular tourist destination in India with beautiful and happening beaches with water sports/nice pubs and great food). It was fun to see one of them scratch his head knowing that i was going to a place 45 kms ahead of Goa and knew nothing about that place. All i knew was that it was untouched and peaceful and wanted to be surprised by the place itself. We all were from the IT industry so had a lot of common topics to talk about so the time just flew and the next day they got down at Goa and went smiling again making me more anxious to see the yellow board with Karwar written when finally after the looonnngg 45mins, my ears heard the train halt. It was raining outside and there at the far end i could see two colorful umbrellas – Pink and Black!

Within seconds, i was soaked up. With my bag all wet i ran to hug my girl friends. People at the station were staring at us like aliens shouting and too excited. It had been mere 5 mins that i was there and i could feel the magic. The place was a beauty and my heart was filled with joy. The next one and a half day, away from the sounds of the city, far away into the south, just near the  Arabian sea. Woww, all those memories are afresh and i can smell the earth after a splash of rain. The beaches were waiting for the high spirited girls..

Instead of going to the guest house, we went to the Rabindranath Tagore Beach which is said to be the place where Rabindranath Tagore enjoyed writing his poems. Seeing the vastness of the sea and peace around i could well imagine why he loved sitting in this quiet and how inspiration poured into his words. It was raining cats and dogs and we three were the only humans on the beach. As kids, we ran into the water and i was trying to hold on to the sand under my feet when the waves tried to drift me away. What a joy it was being a child again.

Nothing is permanent, just like the sand under your feet on  a beach.

If Only..

I know! I know! It’s just like you he says

The beauty of the dusk and dawn

The heart melts as the sun’s rays

Fall on the waters and beyond!

 

He looks at her with those eyes so deep

Where everything is transparent and nothing to speak

A silent tear just rolled, touched his shoulder

Through the linen he wore

Infused with all the love her soul lingers

As she fears to wither like a rose on a sunny day

If Only, there was a chance to stay

And words to keep him from going away

Nothing else would have mattered

But now, she is completely shattered!

 

From where does she get it? All the strength that pulls her up.

It’s his eyes she says, that shone all the love

If only, there is time for him to realize

If only, before it dies..

When you would wait in the Academy hallway, beside the only landline knowing i would call. When you would surprise me calling in your small breaks to just speak for a while. A small Hi and then a long Byeeee would make our hearts melt. The longing would never end. When i talked and you would say..”Motuuuu, stop!” to silence me with the kiss and we would laugh. How i wish i could bring those moments back.

When my phone rang and my eyes sparkled

That transcend from my fondest memories
